Alongside our recent donation to Good Shepherd, AUFSS has also made a donation to the Monash Health Foundation. Our office is in Mount Waverley, and Monash Health is the public health service that looks after our clients, our families and our neighbours. Supporting it was an easy decision.

Our local health service
According to the Foundation, Monash Health is Victoria’s largest public health service. Every day its team of 24,000 people provides more than 250 services at over 50 locations for 1.2 million residents across south-east Melbourne, including Monash Medical Centre in Clayton, Monash Children’s Hospital, Moorabbin Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, Casey Hospital and the Victorian Heart Hospital.
What donations help fund
The Monash Health Foundation is Monash Health’s fundraising arm. Community donations help fund:
- vital new or additional medical equipment;
- medical research;
- scholarships and professional development for staff;
- patient and family-centred care initiatives;
- capital projects and new facilities.
One of the Foundation’s current priorities is designing an ICU of the Future. As the Foundation puts it, one in two of us will need ICU care at some point in our lives.
Why it matters to us
Most of our clients are local families and business owners. Over the years we’ve seen how closely health and financial wellbeing are tied together: an illness or injury is one of the most common reasons a household’s plans change. A strong local health service is part of what keeps our community, and the people we work with, on their feet.
If a health event has put pressure on your finances, talk to your lender early. Most lenders have hardship processes, and the earlier you ask, the more options there are. The National Debt Helpline on 1800 007 007 also offers free, independent financial counselling.
If you’d like to support Monash Health yourself, you can donate through the Monash Health Foundation. The Foundation states that Monash Health holds Deductible Gift Recipient status, so donations are tax-deductible.
Giving back is part of how we work, from sponsoring our local school carnival to supporting Good Shepherd’s work for safe, fair credit.
AUFSS is not affiliated with Monash Health or the Monash Health Foundation. This post describes a donation only; details are taken from the Foundation’s website as at September 2026.
