Suncorp Bank has told brokers that, as part of its move into ANZ, it will stop accepting loan applications from Wednesday 7 October 2026. This is a step in the integration, not a sign of trouble at the bank, and most existing loans continue to be serviced as normal.
It is three dates, not one
- 7 October: no new applications are accepted from this date. Anything not yet lodged has to be submitted before then.
- 27 October: home loan applications already lodged need final approval and loan documents issued by this date.
- 26 December: those loans must settle by this date.
What changes for existing Suncorp customers
The part that is easy to miss is that the change is not limited to new customers. From 7 October, a change to an existing loan that needs a fresh credit assessment, such as a top-up, a split or a restructure that creates a new account or a new loan contract, can no longer be done with Suncorp Bank. It would need to be applied for with ANZ or with another lender, which means income and credit are assessed again from the start.
Every situation is different, so check your own position with your bank or your broker. Customers in financial difficulty can contact Suncorp Bank Customer Assist on 1800 225 223, and existing hardship arrangements continue.
