Australian Finance Service Solutions is honored to announce our partnership with the First Nations Foundation to launch the Indigenous Financial Empowerment Program across Northern Queensland. This three-year initiative aims to bridge the financial literacy gap and provide culturally appropriate financial services to Indigenous communities.
Working alongside Indigenous elders and community leaders, we’ve co-designed workshops that respect cultural values while teaching practical financial skills. Our first program in Cairns welcomed 45 participants from local Indigenous communities, covering everything from home ownership pathways to small business finance.
“Financial services have historically excluded Indigenous Australians,” explained Marcus Williams, our Indigenous Programs Manager. “This partnership ensures we’re providing services that are accessible, respectful, and genuinely helpful.”
The program includes ongoing mentorship, with each participant paired with a volunteer financial advisor for 12 months of support. We’re already seeing incredible outcomes, with three participants successfully applying for their first home loans.
